Privacy Policy

Tadhkirah is built to remind you, not to watch you.

Tadhkirah has no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. This page explains what the extension does and does not do with your information.

Location and prayer times

Your location is used only to calculate prayer times in your browser. It is never sent to us — we have no server to send it to. Prayer times are computed locally on your device from the location you choose, and a year of results can be stored on your device for offline use.

Azaan and announcements

Azaan audio files are included in the extension or fetched directly from their listed sources when you choose to play them. The prayer announcement card is displayed on the page you are already viewing so you can stop the sound with one press. No information about the page is collected.

Quran content

Quran text, translations, tafsir, and recitation audio are fetched only from the sources listed in the extension credits — Quran.com and alquran.cloud — when you use those features. Your reading position and bookmarks are stored locally on your device.

Optional online features

The only reason the extension goes online is for optional extras: city lookup when you type a place name, recitation audio and tafsir, background photography, and headlines. Each request reaches only its own source. Turn those features off and the extension makes no network requests at all.

Data stored on your device

Tadhkirah uses your browser's storage to save settings, bookmarks, reading position, qadha counters, and prayer times. This data stays on your device and is never synced to our servers.

Permissions

Chrome may warn that Tadhkirah can “read and change all your data on all websites.” This is used for three visible features only:

  1. The once-a-day ayah card, shown over the first website you open each day — you choose this during setup and can turn it off any time.
  2. The prayer announcement card in the corner of your current page at prayer time, with a Stop button while the azaan plays.
  3. The toolbar icon sliding the timetable in as a panel over your page, instead of a cramped popup.

Tadhkirah never reads page content, never injects anything you have not asked for, and sends nothing anywhere beyond the optional requests above.

Changes to this policy

If anything meaningful changes about how Tadhkirah handles data, we will update this page and the extension's Chrome Web Store listing.
